Historical Context Politics, philosophy, and science in Europe were radically changed between 1685-1815 as part of a movement often referred to as the Age of Reason, or simply the Enlightenment. Little did the people of the time know their writings and ideas would influence people and ideas for hundreds of years later.

Purpose: The purpose of this webquest is to have students become familiar with the key people of the enlightenment and their new ideas on how government should be run and the rights of their citizens. Task: Your task is to complete a webquest in which you identify the key people of the European enlightenment and the influences that their ideas had on generations to come. Students should complete their note catcher as they complete the task. Note: your note catcher will be collected and graded in addition to your final project.
